How to Sleep Like a Baby every night - restful sleep tonight
Picture this: it's 5:27 p.m. You're hungry after a busy day at work, you want to get home to see your family, and now you're stuck in traffic. Frustration sets in. But you are used to it, as this happens every day.
So you finally walk into your house at 6:04 p.m., your 2 young children are clamoring for your attention and are also hungry. You put some frozen dinners in the microwave knowing full well they're unhealthy, but also knowing that you just don't have time to think, let alone cook. After a quick dinner consisting of Salisbury Steak, your day is not even close to over.
Now is the time to do the laundry, read with the kids, and of course there's one day of office work left. When do you have time to rest? At night you keep telling yourself.
But every night it's the same old story. You go to bed after 1 in the morning and close your eyes. Your mind is still racing from the day that just passed and the busy day ahead. So she goes around and around, hoping she can get at least a little sleep before the wake-up call at 6 a.m. M. (Annoying alarm clock
you've had for 15 years).
And the next day it starts again. You are tired at work, you do not have time to eat, you are stressed and you cannot get out of the vicious cycle.
Then what do you do?
First things first: take a deep breath. You're probably stressed just reading this far.
For a more restful sleep tonight, do the following:
1) Get a notebook and take 5 minutes right before bed to write freely.
What you want to do is get every thought of the past, present, and future out of your head and write it down on paper where it's safe and secure. This will release the clutter from your head and allow you to rest more easily.
2) Get a new alarm clock that gradually wakes you up to classical music.
This will do absolute wonders for your morning routine. What you want to do is set the alarm to go off 15-20 minutes earlier than you normally wake up. It will light up very quietly and slowly pull you out of your sleep.
3) Add some very healthy snacks to your daily routine.
One of my favorites is a 2 oz prepackaged bag of baby carrots. They taste good, they're good for you, and they don't require prep time. When you're hungry at work or on the way home, eat these. Another great snack is raw almonds. Eating healthier works
surprisingly good to help you sleep better.
