Protesters attack a bus carrying Argentine President Alberto Fernandez
Dozens of protesters attacked a minibus carrying Argentine President Alberto Fernandez on Saturday while he was visiting an area devastated by forest fires, beating, kicking and throwing stones at it.
Where Fernandez was forced to take shelter behind a human wall after a crowd of demonstrators rushed towards him and the accompanying delegation, as he was leaving a social center in the town of Lago Pueblo in the Patagonia region (south).
Later, the demonstrators stopped the bus carrying the president and beat it, kicked it and pelted it with stones, causing its windows to shatter.
With a small number of policemen, the crowd managed to stop the president's bus and other vehicles for minutes while some protesters threw themselves on the hood of Fernandez's vehicle.
Once liberated, the chariots made their way through the crowd and speeded off with the presidential bus.
It is noteworthy that the demonstrators were angry at the mining projects in the province of Chubut, which is part of Patagonia, and the governor of the province.
It is reported that the fires that broke out in the Patagonia region a few days ago had killed one person, while 11 others were reported missing, officials said Friday.
