Saudi Arabia is the largest supplier of oil to China
Chinese data revealed that Saudi Arabia has maintained its position as the leading supplier of crude oil to China for the eighth month in a row. Although China's imports from Saudi Arabia slowed in April 2021.
Today, data from the General Administration of Customs in China showed that “shipments from Saudi Arabia amounted to 6.47 million tons last month. Or 1.57 million barrels per day, its lowest level since October 2020.
Russia came in second place, and imports from Russia also declined in April 2021 compared to the previous month, to 6.3 million tons. Or 1.53 million barrels per day, in conjunction with the decline in Chinese crude purchases.
Total imports of crude oil to China, the world's largest buyer, fell 0.2% year on year in April 2021. To the lowest level since last December.
Imports from Oman and the UAE also fell by 8% and 40%, respectively, from their levels a year ago, according to Reuters.
