Clement Lenglet: I don't see myself outside Barcelona next season
French defender Clement Longlet made it clear today, Saturday, that he does not see himself “outside” the Catalan team next season, after the news that put him in the list of summer Mercato transfers after a season in which he did not perform the expected performance.
Lenglet is currently in the French national team camp in preparation for the European Championship (Euro 2020).
"I signed a new contract last season (in October until 2026), with a penalty clause of 300 million euros," the Barca defender told Eurosport. I will be with Barca next season.”
The 25-year-old also spoke about his Dutch coach, Ronald Koeman.
"He did a great job in his first year," he said. There were some difficult periods, and good ones, with good performances and victories that made the picture positive. I hope to finish the work we started, and continue to improve next season.”
The French defender will find greater competition for his position next season after the club signed Eric Garcia from Manchester City, bringing the number of defenders to 6 under Koeman's command: Uruguayan Ronaldo Araujo, Oscar Mingezza, French Samuel Umtiti and veteran star Gerard Pique, in addition to Longlet.
