Philip Anschutz agrees to sell his stake in LA Basketball Team
Billionaire Philip Anschutz, founder of AIG and owner of the Staples Center gym, has agreed to sell his stake in the Los Angeles Lakers basketball team, sources confirmed to the Los Angeles Times on Saturday.
The identity of the person who will buy the stake, which was initially indicated by the "Sportico" website, was not revealed.
It is reported that Anschutz owns the Los Angeles Kijzo Galaxy, and a source stated that this move related to Lakers shares will not affect his relationship with the two clubs.
Anschutz owns 27 percent of the Lakers, the largest minority stakeholder in the Bass family-controlled organization.
