Elon Musk Asks As Twitter's Largest Contributor: Do You Want The Edit Button?
In his first tweets, "shortened and encrypted"
After acquiring a 9.2% stake in the social networking platform "Twitter", Elon Musk, the richest man in the world, launched his first tweets, to come "abbreviated and encrypted" as well.
The owner of Tesla asked his more than 80 million followers this morning, Tuesday, whether they wanted the edit button, in reference to an improvement that users of the most famous site on the communication platforms have long demanded, which is the ability to edit the tweet, after its publication, whether due to a typo in it, or because there is doubt, for example, about its content.
And published on his account a referendum on this point.
mysterious tweet
This came after a mysterious tweet in the evening that was limited to 3 words, namely "Oh hi lol".
However, the phrase "LOL", which means "laugh" in the terminology of communication and messaging sites, spread widely on Twitter.
It is noteworthy that the CEO of Tesla yesterday bought 73,486,938 shares of Twitter, according to a disclosure from the Securities and Exchange Commission, valued at about $2.9 billion based on Friday's closing price.
The purchase decision, which sent the platform's shares up 28% in extended trading after the close of Monday's business day, came shortly after he criticized the platform for not supporting freedom of expression.
Blue bird swipe
And last month (March 2022) Musk published a survey on Twitter, in which he asked whether the platform allows users to speak freely. He wrote at the time: "Freedom of expression is essential to a functioning democracy. Do you think that (Twitter) adheres strongly to this principle?"
While more than 70% of the respondents considered that "Twitter" lacks commitment to freedom of expression, which prompted Musk to ask his more than 80 million followers what to do?!
He also revealed last month that he was "seriously" thinking about creating a new social media platform.
It is noteworthy that "Twitter" has been subjected to severe criticism in recent years, due to the frequent censorship of some conservative views in the United States!
